That's right, nothing like Kevin Rayne as can be seen here:

The Wigan back division that day was:
Steve Hampson Tony Iro, Kevin Iro, Joe Lydon, Ged Byrne
Making Hampson and Lydon (at left centre) highly likely calls for tries scored on Leeds' right in the first 11 minutes of the tie.
Just shows that even one of the greatest teams had a work-manlike non-superstar in the threequarters.
Ablett will do fine.
Shall I leave it now?

No let's not leave it just yet.
Ged Byrne was a decent enough winger when you consider he was facing John Basnett that day. Having players like Ged Byrne and Richard Russell that season probably explains why Wigan missed out on the Championship, Regal Trophy and Premiership.

Can I just add that the standard of been a fullback has slipped ever since Brent Webb has been injured making the likes of Brett Stewart look world class. Stewart has had his 15 minutes of sunshine whilst Brent Webb has been out and that’s all he’ll ever be - 15 minutes of sunshine compared to Brent Webb been eternally the best fullback in the world ever.
God bless the poor Wigan defence tonight. They won’t know what’s hit them.
