I know mutley cat it is unbelievable! They cannot put together an argument that would impress a secondary school teacher and when you point it out they get shirty. Yet they think calling someone sheep*****er etc is comic gold. They are truly pathetic.

If the moderation was "heavier" 12-18 months ago then it was in response to the rise of posters that were simply not palatable to the mood on this board, any heavyhandness (if any) was down to the fact that some people simply would not respond to anything less.
And in some cases, even when people were given chance, after chance, after chance they still refused to change how they conducted themselves on the forum, they are gone now and touch wood things have settled down.
Though as a moderator, there is still the occaisional flare up of trolling, flaming and outright insults, but nothing of the scale previously.
Quite simply, I think we have shed the worst offenders, and the most easily offended and what remains are for the most part, the most construcive posters, and the silent readers.
One positive is that we remain an open and fair place where there is a clear structure for any issues to be raised and dealt with, and compared with other sub forums we are by far the most lenient and always have been.

that is not the responsibility of those who no longer post but of those that still do. They need to have a long hard look at themselves.
FWIW Catnap does not appear to be trolling other than giving his view some of which i do not agree with but i do not take it personally
Why the moralising about other posters? Some people may take your comments as insulting, point scoring or personally abusive.
In normal circumstances they can reply to comments or ignore them. To me that is fair enough. However some want to prescribe how people must post far beyond the AUP.

Could not agree more and mods on here do explain why they say you have overstepped the mark re the AUP.

you see - why would they wanna put together an argument ???
why does every topic have to be turned into an argument - he's a wakey fan, take the mick out of him,he will do thesame back and we will have a laugh about it thats how we used to do it

no reason why it still can not be IMHO , the biggest shame IMHO is that this is one of the few boards with no camaraderie between opposing fans and probably the only one within the heartlands. I have said this many times to other posters but 'Mutley Cat' does not exist in real life my name is Chris so why argue with a fictional character?
I also must add that ones education as nothing to do with what kind of person they are and if some get frustrated at talking beneath there superior level then maybe they are on the wrong forum to begin with.

Having been a poster on this site for a long time, I think a lot of that stems back to our first "go" in Super League, the merger, the relegation etc. We too a *lot* of abuse over that from other supposed fans of other clubs, for things that virtually all Huddersfield fans equally hated, then when we came back up we got labled as a "dirty" team, since that was clearly the only way we could win a game, in the end the us v them mentality developed and still shows its face now from time to time.
But then even now, some other clubs fans still think we are the same club that couldnt win a game in SL and are aghast when they lose to us.
Fortunately there are still enough of the friendly, enjoy the banter and the serious RL debate type fans that make it worth while, especially for me who isnt having to police the endless childish spats and dummy throwing sessions.

Here I say 'argument' meaning a coherent pov. You are correct, many people do not want to offer anything that makes sense.
feel free to do what you want to do on here I will do likewise within the AUP
