Barrow used to be a pain in the ar5e to get to though. Not so much any more, however. I remember going in the 1986/87 season and it seemed to take hours, because it was all narrow country roads.
But they've built several roads that bypass the small villages, so whilst you still have to go through Newby Bridge and Ulverston, the rest of the way is fairly straightforward with plenty dual carriageways.

Hopefully with what might be a larger demand for tickets than we may get from Barrow the club will do something sensible like make sure that the season ticket holders who have been to x amount of away games get the chance of tickets first.

Or is that a little too sensible for us?
I doubt it. I have said they should introduce a loyalty points system like they have in football but probably pointless to have one as apart from finals and one-offs you will more than likely get a ticket regardless.

When we were playing in the band (group) Ulverston was one of our favourite venues.
The owner of one of the clubs we used to play at owned a bakery in Ulverston so he use to take us back there at the end of the night and give us fresh cakes.
Beautiful.

I've not been out round Ulverston, but my dad tells me that on Friday and Saturday nights all the farmers come into town from the hills and cause a load of barneys.
There's a list of people banned from the town's pubs under the pubwatch scheme in all the pubs, and they all had the same surname! To think we call Leigh...
