East beat Cumbria, yesterday 38 - 18
Miners travelledall the way to South Wales on Sat for Sundays game with Celtic for it to be called off on the morning of the game and apparently CELTIC refused to play at the Miners in the other rearranged game for WED night. Why does this team get perferenual treatment?

That seems interesting. We'll wait and see what comes of that. It would seem strange for them to give the game up as if they win their games in hand and beat Miners in their two games they wouldn't be far off being level with them! :?

Youth team claim top spot without playing!

Miners under-18s were confirmed as Gillette National Youth League Minor Premiers at the weekend in somewhat frustrating circumstances as nearest rivals Celtic Crusaders conceded both games to the league leaders. Having travelled down to Treorchy on Saturday, Miners saw the ground fail a pitch inspection following torrential overnight rain whilst their hosts also elected to forfeit the return journey to Twist Lane on Wednesday 11th March, seeing Miners claim the four competition points which confirms them as table toppers.

So I trust they will be kicked out and fined and all their results expunged from the league?.

Well done lads, it has been an outstanding season. You have looked a different class this year. Winning the league is the start of a very possible treble and it would take a brave man to bet against you. Every member of the squad has stood up and been counted. The team is always very strong from 1 - 17. Also accolades to the coaching staff, they have been excellent and have the lads playing with pride and the team spirit is second to none.

Absolutely discraceful decision in the NYL

Cetic Crusaders will now travel up to Leigh to play Leigh miners but will not travel to play Leigh East

This will most likely cost Leigh East a play off spot

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

East have 3 games left but now will only get the chance to play one

The other 2 games have been ' decided ' as drawn games , Easts getting 1 point off each

Both games are definately winnable but now it is unlikely they will make the play offs

They have finally managed to get a full squad fit and ready to play and are quite capable of beating anybody on thier day

They have not called any matches off but are now possibly going to suffer bcause of others problems
