Is there any other option that anybody has used to get across to Perpignan for the game other than renting your own car or using Catalan Sports Tour transfers?
fly to Girona, stay there and then catch the train up to perpignan.

we stayed in lloret last weeked, transfers with cst to perpignan, everything went smoothly. i agree perpignan is very expensive, we were paying on average £5 a pint, despite the prices we had a fantastic weekend, the result helped of course. i dont think there is anything wrong with lloret, certainly cheaper than perpignan, our hotel was £70 for three nights, all inclusive.

not going this time, however last time i was there i was in an irish bar, 5 euros a pint, had to argue to get the bloke behind the bar to put superleague on.

Well if you will drink pints in a country/place where that is not the local measure, what do you expect?

And fell out an open window onto the street.
damn sliding window frames.
If only you'd have gone to a proper French café/bar then, instead of a plastic Irish bar. Le Grande Café de la Bourse shows Super League as a matter of course, and I think that Le Grand Café de la Post does too. The latter is slap bang next to Le Castillet. The Bourse is about a two-minute walk up the road.

You can get a Frog Bus from Gerona airport up to Perpignan, or there's the option of the train, as mentioned earlier.
When we go over for the Rhinos game we're staying in Northern Spain (L'Estartit) for 10 days, but getting a hire car and doing an overnighter on the game day. The trip up on the motorway is straight forward, and doesn't cost that much either.

good choice, but if you're thinking of staying around there, you've got to look at cadaques... beautiful!
