Whether this is helpful or not, the average SL salary is 64k a year. The bottom earners are on a measly 18-20k a year, so assuming a normal distribution throughout the league, the top earners would be on around 100k apiece.

I would say that some first team players are on less than £18k aswell.

The "top earners" are grossing far more than that though - through the clubs and from "external" earnings". And I'm not at all sure that player earnings will follow a Normal Distribution - not least because of the small population size at each club and the disproportionate benefit a club sees from employing a "marquee" player?

I do think people might be surprised at how modest the packages of some of the "middle-rankers"are though.
