Radford is hardly ever in the scrum these days. Means the full back can filter back into postion for the set direct from the back of the scrum and not get caught up in a tackle

I personally thought they did it to get an extra person in the defensive line, as soon as the ball is fed the full back runs back into position and you have your looseman in the line ready for the tackle.
