The fact is he's only played centre against relatively lesser opposition. Despite this he seems to be being painted as almost guaranteed to make the transition at SL level flawlessly, when actually the likelihood is that he may appear to go slightly backwards when it initially happens.
Much like Craig Hall really. He now seems to have been almost written off as a centre by many because he has a few defensive issues and Briscoe has looked good
on the wing. For all we know Briscoe may show similar positional and decision-making frailties at first, it's a much more difficult proposition to defend in the centres than on the wing IMO.
I just don't understand the apparent culture amongst our fans of labelling young kids as world class within 20 games, only to turn around and say get rid he's useless by 40. There seems to be absolutely no understanding/tolerance of learning curves.
