Jesus wept it £1 FFS!
If it makes you feel any better try looking at it this way.......
Its a derby game and therefore demand will be high so the club has sensibly decided to up the price by £1. Meanwhile back on the ranch in a completely unrelated move the club have decided to donate some money to their chosen charity for the year at Easter time (which they donate to in lots of other ways during the year as well). After much arguing about how much to give they decided that the best way to decided was that for every person who comes to the derby game, that isnt a season ticket holder, they will donate £1.

Forgive me but I have been in India for the last 6 weeks and thought I'd check out this thread for some info on the game. However, all I get is 9 pages of charity waffle.......
Can somebody tell me if the derby is all ticket??? If so, how are the sales doing, coz I haven't got mine yet!!??
For what it's worth, I will add my tupence to the debate. I agree with most on here. Enforced charity is wrong. The club know people will pay regardless because it is the derby. The value of the charitable contribution is irrelevant it is the principle.
If I choose to give to charity, I will choose the monetary value, how often I donate and to which charity I donate myself. I do not need the club to tell me I will be donating to their charity. It's bordering on blackmail.

Jobs a god'un move one.
It's really simple, if you want to go to the game you will purchase a ticket & the £1 will go to the charity, if you don't want to go to the game or disagree strongly enough about the £1 don't purchase a ticket & you won't be going.

Which, as many people have said, is completely wrong.
I have an issue with the club getting involved with Comic Relief anyway, it's as bad as Children in Need, a load of sycophantic back slapping by BBC bods who could just donate 10% of their income if they really care.

its not going to comic relief is it?
personally I'd have gone for a Bucket collection on the gates, and possibly matched the money raised from club funds aswell.

£1 or not it don't seem to be putting folks off 16,000 already sold! I guess they should have offered an opt out or better still put the away end tickets up by the amount our beirut end tickets are increased at Caravan Park that would have raised much more!

It would raise zip, zero, nothing as you well know as the price has never been increased for you.
I have no objection to the extra quid if it all goes to charity.
