COACH Shaun McRae has the total support of his Salford Reds' chairman John Wilkinson.

McRae has come under fire from fans following three successive defeats, but Wilkinson says it's down to the team to start performing to maximum capability.

Wilkinson told MEN Sport: "Shaun has an important job to do and he will carry on doing that job.

Has anyone else noticed the 'A good coach doesn't become A bad coach over night' phrase. Think we heard that just before Karl Harrison sacked???

Let's face the facts, coaches change and players change but the results stay the same. Well most of the players have changed. Prehaps the club needs to find another way of inspiring the players rather than changing the coach everytime things go wrong. With the exception of a few years under Harrison the team has gone out on the pitch week after week and appeared to put in little or no effort.

Don't know what happened in Florida but judging by the way it is supposedly effecting team spirit I can hazard a guess. So once again we are back to days of not being motivated.

Good leadership is the ability to inspire and encourage those around to produce their best as often as possible. So the coaches keep changing, yet the captain, until Alker got sacked, and chairman have always stayed the same. Hate to say it, but one of these two ICONS were/are not producing the inspiration required.

So if Wilky goes so does the club, perhaps players are fed up with being spoon fed about the new stadium and nothing seems to be happening, and this is affecting their attitudes because I know I am totally fed up with all the talk or lack of it at present with the new stadium and nothing happening. I am now totally in the belief that we will not get a new stadium, and JW will leave the club after the Licence expires in 3 years time.

something will happen about the stadium, i believe this because peel holdings need that land developed more than we need a stadium.

but i just wish someone from the club would come out and tell us the truth.

Amidst all of the current disarray and the never ending saga of the new ground, I can only see the same outcome mate

I am pleased that the chairman has not done anything rash, Shaun Mcrae will see us on the right path, it just will take a lot longer than some of the posters on this forum expected.

We were never going to compete straight away with established SL clubs or even finish top 8 as some talked about on here, we have to be patient and have faith in the chairman and the coach to do the job.

We have some good youngsters who need time to learn their craft but they will develop into decent SL talents, and see us getting a renewed licence through our on field performances and our position as the only SL franchise in the Manchester conurbation, the stadium will follow.

A bit of belief and positivity is needed now, all the bitcing and finger pointing needs to stop, booing and shouting abuse at individuals doesn't help anyone.

LET'S GET TOGETHER AND SUPPORT THE TEAM.

I have no idea whether McRae can sort out this problem, but if he can't devise a new game plan then maybe he will have to go. Too many long serving fans are getting fed up of the promises of much in the future.

The issue is who has the skill to mould this team into a cohesive unit rather than the mismatched bunch they appear.

34 missed tackles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
