Totally agree, however Leeds get penalised for being a succesful club off the field by the salary cap.

We have alot of salary cap room, we could pull off a big mid season signing.

Who is available though? I was discussing this with danny last night, if Eastwood signs for a club over in Oz, then i think this could get quite messy. He has signed a contract with us, so the club over there would have to buy him out of the contract i would have thought, unless Leeds decide to terminate the contract by mutual consent. If that happens, then I presume we would have been paying Eastwood for sweet FA if we are paying him at the moment?

I've had a word with Craig Innes, and he says contracts in England don't prevent you signing for NRL clubs.

I would imagine Leeds would accept it if Eastwood didn't come. It's not as if Leeds have missed him, and Kirke is playing OK.

Maybe it's a blessing in disguise, and a big financial saving for the club, if Eastwood doesn't come.

The season starts in October. Until then, don't panic!

If his appeal fails then his contract will be worthless surely.

I was looking forward to seeing what he could do but saying that I'm finding myself getting more and more annoyed at the amount of overseas players. IMO even we have too many. I suppose at least ours are quality rather than some of the Jim Beam, QLD Cup, Reserve crap we see all to often.

Clubs put clauses in contracts stipualting that a refusal of a visa voids a contract - similar to us with Crocker!

If we got an experienced centre then we could move Ablett to his natural position at back row.

Anything stopping Eastwood coming over here in the meantime just to train or meet the guys??

When Webb is back, Smith will be playing in the centres though.
