As a rugby league fan as well as a sports photographer it made me feel very sad to witness this sort of thing, its something that you expect at some football matches but not in our game, a very sad day indeed, I hope you enjoy viewing today's photos of the action on the pitch it's what i prefer to remember about today.

When I heard about this, I thought why am I not surprised. They came to Keighley Albion in the Yorkshire Cup just over a year ago. They brought a large following armed with larger and behaved like animals all game. They turned the game into a battle and Keighley Albion fell for the bait. Then in a cup final at Dewsbury last may, they took a big 1st half lead, then when the other looked like coming back into it, they restored to using high shots.
In my view Doncaster should be given the game, Leigh East given a bye in the national Cup and Queens deducted all their points in the league aswell fined.

Steve.
I just hope your images identify the people who were involved and you don't get any comebacks.
Whilst I had heard of Queens I did not know of their reputation till last week until someone from Simms Cross told me that they had brought their own 'security' with them. Says it all--ban them

They weren't so great at the Maries. Bobbie Goulding kept the lid on things before they got out of hand on that occassion, but they have a bad element which you generally don't see at amateur level.
The incident today is disgusting and an embarassment to RL. I would expect that kind of thuggery in football but not rugby. Queens have a reputation and have done for a while. The video link to youtube is ridiculous, thats not even proper boxing and those lads are U17s!!One of my friends was a touchjudge on that game today and have been told he had coins thrown at him and was spat on which is disgusting.
The 'security' sounds like it was ridiculous, the Keepmoat should have provided better than that especially after they had been warned about what to expect.
The Queens players were shocking for clapping their fans after the game!
Queens should be thrown out of the cup for it. It may not necassarily been the players fault, however they didn't help matters and the supporters are disgusting. I'm sure its not all of them, however these days the minority actions seem to speak for the majority...
