what ever happened or didn't happen across the pond it has certainly had an effect, i admit i missed the two away games, but from what i saw tonight there are two camps in the squad and McRae appears to have no idea what to do.
Either we keep Alker and get rid of Parker or Keep Parker and get Rid of Alker. because whilst both are at the club the players do not know who to follow that was clearly evident tonight.
Plus i remember last year when a forced error on the opposition was greeted with slaps from all the team, tonight it was a chore for two players to give the slaps, the young players are confused with the lack of leadership on the park.
We also appear to have picked up a couple of bar tenders from walkabout, i have my season ticket so i am tied into the home matches, the away games I have a choice and I will exercise this choice by missing these games something I have not done for at least the last ten years.
On the last 3 weeks performances I would sack the Celtic coach for losing to us.
But seriously, we should look at what the SL license we have it talks about bringing in local talent, there is not a lot of that around unfortunately, most local Rugby league clubs struggle to run a couple of teams and our fan base will not increase with the stuff we serve up. So
the new plan
Save £50m overnight
We don't need a new stadium
We hand back the License, knock down the seats in the North stand and put a cover over the standing area so the ground has level stands all round. This will be suitable to play in the national leagues, players to go part time (would increase the work rate for some)would look Ok with about 2000-2500 crowds and give us some wins at the level the City deserves for the size of the crowds we get.
I know it appears doom and gloom but we have to face it, the new ground has been put back more times than the caramel in a box of quality street.

You may be right but i'm always amazed at why this is allowed to happen. These are grown men we are talikng about not girls in a school yard.
It's all so destructive, and in the end, only the fans suffer.

The players should spend more time improving their defence and kicking game, and less time bitching.

Very noticable tonight that the "team" are not a team. I too noticed the lack of encouragement when we forced an error. I think we have a very strong candidate for worse stand off ever to wear a Salford shirt in Smith he was simply dreadful tonight but it looked a very strange decision to play Ratchford at wing and have Smith as his centre when defending. I lost count of the number of times Smith turned his back on the play before the tackle was completed. It was very frustrating to watch tonight and dont let our mini fight back fool you. The tries we conceded were awful and the score board did not lie. Admittedly at 18-30 the game was on,and if we scored next then who knows, but its not enough to play for twenty minutes out of eighty. Next week looks a very frightening prospect after tonight. Very poor show tonight guys

Total agreement with this, there is something between the squad someone needs to get the team in to gear , there paid well to play a sport we would play for nothing they all need to get a grip and play together.

One of the best posts I've seen on here for a long time, I remarked on far too many occasions tonight that it was all too clear that this team isn't playing for each other. In this sport when that happens the outcome is inevitable. This, for me, is the ultimate team sport & if the 17 players who take to the field are not united as a team, the outcome is both inevitable & painful

Spot on but I don't think you'll get much support with your views from the resident Shed dwellers on here mate.

You might actually be wrong. If you're referring to the way people react to yourself, it's your attitude that gets people's backs up, nothing else.

Back to the point, spot on Pev. I don't care what 'assurances' people claim to have had from people 'close' to the dressing room, there's a definite rift in that dressing room. And it's going to cause us some serious problems this season.

No heart tonight, the players arnt playing for each other, everyone can see that, Mcrae has lost the dressing room, the players dont want to know, they have a job for the next 3 years regardless how much effort they put in, there isnt any worry in their faces.
I feel sorry for the young lads, times like this they need the the protection of the team to get them settled in superleague not what is happening now

Perhaps they should all go for a pint and sort it or would that cause more problems in the future.?

Sack Mcrae or Sack a player easy

If it were up to me I'd sack players, there are plenty of guys in the team [sic] who have proved they aren't up to the standard because we've been relegated with them. We've also had these rumours of players not wanting to play for coaches before too. The catalogue of problems and bad decisions goes on and on at Salford, moreover no lessons ever get learnt as we've seen them all happen before.

FWIW I think McCrae is a good man, and he probably rues the day he ever got involved with our joke of a club.
