I enjoyed the match. Bit of a knockonathon in the second half though. Was impressed by Cambridge's defence and their last two tries were good to watch. It was a surprise to hear James Graham mentioned - apparently his cousin was playing (I think for Cambridge but I'm not sure). It was also a surprise to hear rugbly league players sounding so articulate!

I cannot see why the match is televised, what interest is there in watching a bunch of students playing a poor standard of rugby? It seems that because RU has a varsity match which gets a silly amount of coverage, we have to do the same.

its called promoting the game, and i for one enjoyed it so stop being a killjoy you grumpy old bugger.
When else would you get to see Rugby Legue on the TV with players named Rupert , Harold and Quentin and other players from Mallaga in spain, or "this player worked on the CERN project last year".
It brings home the places these people end up to be honest, and that can only help us in the future.
We often complain in our game about the fact that the other code brings in loads more revenue that we do but much of that is the old school network, and this is exactly that.
Plus its good to see student RL on the TV, regardless of who is playing.
