Witness this one for example, although there have been plenty of others.
You've just been highly patronised, not because you are thick. You are one of the most knowledgable and reasonable fans on here. What people fail, FAIL to acknowledge that in Widnes, RL is the life blood of the town. It means far far more to us than certain other areas. The clubs existence isn't just a punt by the RFL or some businessman.
But it wont remain so if were treated like outsiders and small time so much by fans and organisers alike. Football will gain more and more of a foothold here.
There is one reason only you have been talked down to like that, it's your location, and were better off leaving them all to it because our name is mud no matter what we post.
Yes, I've pretty much seen the same attitude on this board for some time. Someone has a go at a current SL club and puts forward the horrendous notion that Widnes should have been given a licence instead and, despite there being no Widnes fan anywhere near the thread, we come in for stick.
Some of the trolls even start threads in the knowledge this will happen.
Ah well, there's only one thing left to do....
UP YOURS VIRTUAL TERRACE!!!

I think beards and sandals rule here now.
It just isn't worth it, littlerich. I've now been demobbed and I’ve handed in my flatcap and whippet to the quartermaster stores.
If I’m still around, I may make a nuisance of myself again in 2011.

Oh diddy widdums.
Perhaps if some of you didn't whinge and complain so much, others wouldn't have a pop.

Good on you for admitting it.
And while you're about it, you can go and find all the quotes from me where I've personally 'had a pop' at Widnes. Being pro-expansion is not a synonym for disliking Widnes, however much some of you might like to pretend it is.

It hasn't stopped your persecution complex – although of course that would rather put a damper on your wallowing in self pity.

Yes, That’s your answer to everything isn’t it?
What was that you said about ‘stunningly logical and well-argued contributions’?
Mintball wrote: Perhaps if some of you didn't whinge and complain so much, others wouldn't have a pop.
Neither I nor any other Widnes fans have been moaning about either, Widnes’ omission from SL or Salford’s inclusion on this thread, so that just leaves your petty little remark. I have no reason to neither regret nor retract a word I have written.

I never said it was. Some people are able to talk about expansion without the need to resort to snide, pointless, remarks about certain clubs. I have no problem with expansion, just the way it’s being handled. Good luck to all those clubs who made it.

I have no intention of trawling though your posts. I’ve seen enough of the way fans of certain clubs get treated on the VT, with your acquiesance or otherwise, to know that fans of certain clubs are regarded as 2nd class citizens.
I could keep a close eye on your future remarks, about certain clubs, and point them out for you if you like?

When you manage one, perhaps it'll get a different response.

Paranoid bullcrap. No one group of fans is treated any differently than any other group of fans.
Still, at least you didn't throw your toys so far out of the pram, like one C Dalton Esq, that you actually resigned from moderating a forum on here that doesn't even discuss RL because you were so apparently unhappy with last June's decisions and presumably hold this online community and a non-RL forum to be partially responsible.

Er.... no.
Why would you say this?

The stadium was one aspect of the criteria for a super league spot, not the deciding factor. The finances of both Leigh and Widnes have been shaky in recent years and neither have exactly set the world on fire on the playing front. You might even argue that justice had been done as it was the two teams who finished top of the NL1 and competed in the grand final that got the SL spots.
Having said that, Leigh and Widnes do have super dooper stadiums.
I wasn't on the wind up at all.
I have no connections to Widnes or Leigh, I was just providing an alternative to League Freaks view who posted above me.
I'm aware that it's not just about 'housing', just mentioned I was really impressed with Leighs new turf but if they were to suceed at SL level they need to tap into the Bolton market. Salfords expanding catchment area is much bigger but they really do need to get the new ground sorted. They did promise after all, same with Wakey. Without that ground it is my personal opinion they are behind Widnes in the criteria, but as someone else pointed out, we dont make the decisions do we.

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
