Hopefully this will be to castlefords advantage as bird wont be match fit or well gelled with his team mates. Failing that mitchell sargent will knock him all the way back to oz

other options would be him at 13 and greg into the second row or him in the centre/second row
Surely Perry would be dropped to the bench if Bird plays 5/8? How could Walters possibly justify picking Perry over Bosc?

If it hasn't worked by now, it never will! I'm all for reaching out to a wider audience with our game but not at the expense of historical clubs in the homelands.

quite easily, it is his team and he'll live and die by the decisions he makes! if the perry-bird combo doesn't work, then he can try the bosc-bird combo.
the one thing bosc has against him is his versitility and the fact he has played on the wing before. Perry doesn't have that so it makes sense to not move him around.
all in my opinion of course

If I were in Tommy's position and was forced out onto the wing, I'd be checking my phone to see if I still had Stade Français' number. It'd be a tremendous kick in the teeth for a player which club and country should be being built round.
For a player who was instrumental in so much last year, and also in League Express was up there for the Goldthorpe memorial medal, after so many good performances it seems to me a kick in the teeth to shift him around like he is surplus to requirements? Perhaps Toulouse may want to build a team around him. If I were Goulding, the first thing I would do is get on the phone and ask Walters what he is playing at. Just a personal opinion, and many may not agree, but I am not impressed with walters first few weeks of tenure at SGB.
