Feels better to be Champions of the world, no matter who you beat to get the crown.
Only rings true when we win a series against the green and golds.
nearly fell over . very funny . when will this happen
winning like never before. decoys. mouse traps. chicken wings. lollie pops. shepperds. the crusher. grapples. big league. In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11
Manly were well and truly dominant. In truth the 8 point margin was a diservice to them and probably due to them clocking off and thinking about cracking open the Tooheys.
It was satisfying to hear the drone of the pathetically craven 'marchin on together' die flat on it's booty, just like the Leeds pack when they realised biffing it down the middle was not going to work.
Maybe on a rainy day, but March 1st 2009 was not like October 4th 2008 and it showed.
Satisfaction at the seeing the Manly side drum the obnociousness of the Leeds supporters is tempered by the fact they look odds on to retain their title this year.
a side playing their first competetive fixture of the season after flying half way round the world against a team 3 weeks into their season and playing at home.manly showed their class.they visibly tired in the last 1/4,but the game was well won by then.well done manly.

Decent game like. Peacock putting up the biff was probably the best part of the game.
And of course, we weren't let down. Ryan Bailey coming in as 3rd man on two occasions... surprise, surprise.
If Manly were really that interested, they could have clocked up half a ton no problem (as shown by the 3 tries in 6 minutes). But what would be the point in them breaking a sweat if the game was in the bag already?
They came over, did the job with minimal effort, then trotted off unscathed and untried.
