Just watching the Wakefield match for the first time since being there on friday night and again I find myself really impressed by how well Wakefiled perform with a hand - full of class players and some hard workers (sorry if there are any Wakefield fans reading).
When trying to select an ideal manager for Warrington I am not sure Kear would have the trophy winning mentality that I would want but at least we would defend well, make less errors, have better discipline and if we lose we will be able to say at least we tried our hardest.

Kear reached as high a club as he could when he was at hull and they had to get rid to move on to the next level(i.e the Grand final). He is just a much better version of cullen in the sense that he can get the best out of a group of average players. Any club with aspirations of the Grand final does not appoint John Kear. Top bloke though.

Kear is a good coach and a good man manager, especially with younger players who he has always been good at getting the most out of. I would definitely have him at Warrington.
He's always been good at big games and knockout situations, not only did he do the two great cup runs to win Sheffield and Hull Challenge Cups against the odds, he took over Wakefield in situation impossible in 2006 where they had to win 4 from their last 6 or something to stay up, and he did it.
He doesn't seem to work as well with high profile overseas players as he does young British lads though, this happened at Hull with Stephen Kearney and Richard Swain, Hull wanted to give Kearney a coaching job when he retired as a player but he wouldn't work under Kear. Some of these guys seemed to think Kear is more of a media personality than a good coach.
