At a guess, because a team full of youngsters would be battered even more comprehensively.
After a few months of being battered repeatedly these youngsters would then start looking elsewhere, for a team with better chances of winning some games.
Did anyone ever think tat perhaps the reason we've managed to keep hold of promising youngsters is that they want to rub shoulders, and compete for places, against experienced SL players (eg. Paul, Talau) and ex-NRL players (eg. Cashmere, Smith, Swain).
Why would Myler, Turner, Ratchford et al want to stay at a club where they're the best players??
