Take the prejudice, bitterness and hatred of RL that exists in some quarters of England RU, multiply it by 1000x and I give you the attitude of Ireland RU supporters to RL.

It's to do with the way England play and have done for as long as I can remember.
They are the most boring rugby side of either code I've ever seen.
They are the home of kick n clap.
I remember going to Twickenham with a friend of mine from Carrickfergus in the 70's and Mike Gibson ran England ragged.
England played the same push, shove, heave, kick and hope for a penalty that they are renowned for.
I knew John Horton who was at Cowley and went onto play for Bath and England (he also had a summer job through Wigan who wanted to sign him when he was sixteen)
John was a superb running rugby player, fast and elusive. I met him one day when I was a motorway service station and asked him why he was playing so negatively for England.
"Kick it out and hope for a mistake is how were TOLD to play" was his reply.

Paid £47 for one round of drinks at Temple and foolishly left it too late to get the tube to Richmond and missed our first win of the year. Watched the game in a pub packed with rah rahs and got the train home on Sunday with a load of gloating Mancs.
I've had better weekends.

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions
