Durbin i,d sign him up for 3 years he,s head and shoulders above any
playmaker we,ve had in the past few years and his kickin game is pretty good too top player that lad.. We defo need a class centre and another big forward Hobbo today played out of his skin when he was on the field
another big rugged lad like him and we wont be far off at the end of the season.

Just what me and Matt were discussing earlier on in the week. The difference today was I cannot remember him giving one penalty away and all his aggression was controlled. He had them on the back foot every time he drove the ball in and made loads of hard yards.Maybe my MOM today. Well done Hobbo.

But they are all we have so they will have to grow together (and fast).

As DS has said I am not a huge fan of Watson also, but I was defending him to the hilt today amongst our own supporters. What you have said above Fred is spot on for me. Also without Watson we would have little or no direction. Maybe this mantle could be taken on/shared by Durbin in the future as I believe he is more than capable.

I think Riddy has looked better in each game and does not look out of place in this division. He certainly works his socks off for the cause and does not shirk his defensive responsibilities.

....and as a team only 5 penalties all game   When i listened to the game against Fev on the radio I think we gave away 5 penalties in about 5 minutes at one point

I will add a well done to Hobbo also, put in some good runs down the left in the second half. Also read in the rugby rags this morning he recieved a formal caution but ultimately had no case to answer from his sending off

2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!

Overall had a good day out and must say the setup at Leigh East is absolutely brilliant, thought we deserved to win the game but we pinched a couple of games last season so we'll take an improved performance and move on, we'd have went out even if we'd won.

Must say meet the Haven fans in the Leigh East club , great set of fans who wished us good luck, Say to you guys too, except when you play Leigh of course

Well I'm sitting here nearly 24 hours on, and I still can't quite beleive we won that game. Haven were faster, stronger and displayed better skill and guile than us. At the game I was feeling a bit down about the performance, but later, on reflection, one thing that did stand out was the guts and determination from the team. To keep going and believing when on the back foot for large parts of the game is very comendable and it is something to take encouragement from.

I have never been a fan of Hobbo but he typified the attitude yesterday. When he was brought off late in the second half he was clearly on his last legs, but when he was brought back on for those last few minutes he was running down the line desperate to get back on the pitch. Then of course he put in some barnstorming clearing runs. Higson was just as eager late on as well underlining the general attitude.

Exactly the way I feel. But do you know what. I was talking to a few people after the game who just weren't happy with the win. They were saying things like "wont win anythng" or "we were cr@p". I wasn't happy with some of the play but we showed true grit to scrape a win out of a, not so good performance.

If we play crap like we did yesterday and got a win, we should batter most teams this season when everything comes together..

I came away relieved we had got the win. We were not the better team but as you say we showed a lot of grit and determination. Sometimes you have to win dirty so to speak. The fact that the game was on a knives edge throughout made it interesting. A mixture of good entertainment, a bit of rough and tumble alongside a close competitive match is the ideal blend, but we will not always get that.
