How the selectors overlooked Kevin Meadows, Barry Peters & Rocky Turner, I'll never fathom.
The backrow alone was more than worthy of GB caps; Roberts, Rathbone, McGinty. Funny how McGinty spent nine years at Warrington, didn't get a sniff of GB. One season a tWigan and hey-ho he is playing in an Ashes series.
Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

Here we go again.
The backbone of that team finished 3rd, 6th and 11th from 86/87 - 88/89. If the internet was around then, they would have received more stick than this current team.

Slightly OT
After taking a look at that vintage picture it got me thinking.
You will notice that back in the day shoulder pads were quite prominent, was their a RL rule put in place to limit their size and appearance under the shirt, you rarely seem them these days.

Rodwell was by far the worst!!
As for nutley his reputation seemed to grow even more after he left warrington, he played a couple of times for queensland in the state of orgin. Class player, could do with a few more like him at the moment
