Good to see some of our second string perform against Spurs, the overated Ben Foster had a stormer and I thought Gibson did okay yet agaon,and we played well against a below strength Spurs side, some teams have been tw'atted by them.

I don't see why Geovanni was so upset about being taken off, he was rubbish.
Probably because he turned up in the hope of playing football, not just to run around following aerial balls up against players 6 inches taller and then be subbed for being ineffective.
If Brown's going to play long ball, he needn't bother picking Geovanni up front in the first place IMO. But if he's going to play him, at least try and play to his strengths so he can get involved. There's been no success with the current 'game-plan' of lumping it to the left side of the field for Kilbane/Garcia/whoever to contest, so it's about time to give up on it.

He got in a couple of decent positions and his touch let him down badly, one ball he got from Mendy had him clean through on goal. I am not defending Brown as I thought he selected the wrong team yesterday but Geo did little to suggest he should have been kept on. If Brown is going to play long ball then he needs to have Manucho and Cousin up front.

The ball from Mendy was an awful first touch where he was entirely at fault, I just thought that by and large the tactics really did not suit Geovanni and that's where the frustration will have come from. His reaction was unacceptable and his case not too strong given his performance, I'm only saying I can understand why he will have been unhappy. As manager it's Brown's job to keep players happy and get the best from them, and asking pint-sized playmakers to help lead the line is plainly moronic. You're spot on that the job is better suited to Manucho and Cousin. Garcia and Geovanni, never in a million years.

IMO, Welbeck looks poor. His first touch is shocking, hopefully he improves.

i said this would happen to hull even early in the season. i cant see there goal threat if i was the manager i would have loaned in a stricker like west brom did i cant see enough goals and i really can see hull going down unfortunately.
