Nearly had a bloody heart attack when 'Haven were attacking towards the end - all you could hear were sporadic expletives all over the North Stand whenever 'Haven made a half break
Atmosphere was abysmal for the first hour but really picked up near the end. Never thought we'd have such a dramatic finish to a NRC group game, so I think the new format has certainly been justified.

Your already booked on the coach to Sheffield then ?

Agree completely Fred , am exciting game but very poor technically
Workers dont win games in my opinion , they set the platform , we had enough of them today but not enough ' gamebreakers

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
i got warned by 2 jobsworth stewards for being too excited in celebrating the winning try.
what stewards didnt see was me shaking hands with some of the haven fans that im good friends with just after and wishing them a safe journey home. i get away with a lot i suppose with mother in law having caravan at whitehaven and when im up there go watch haven (in my leigh shirt) and being a member of whitehaven independant supporters group.

I got a warning as well for being too loud after our first try, must say I was absolutely baffled by it.
Overall had a good day out and must say the setup at Leigh East is absolutely brilliant, thought we deserved to win the game but we pinched a couple of games last season so we'll take an improved performance and move on, we'd have went out even if we'd won.
i do have to chuckle to myself, people seem to be surprised because we don't have any gamebreakers, well we neve have had any with this squad, this is what alot of people have been saying, we also showed our like of size today, like i said can't fault our boys efforts, stewards over reascting, never.
We have gamebreakers in the team its just that we cant do the basics right
like move up in defence and back up the player in motion
.Today 80% of the team did,nt know what the other 20% were doing
half the time if they would just follow the bl--dy player with the ball instead of standing still I,m not a big fan of Watson but if certain players would just put in more effort and move onto his passes at pace instead of
taking them standing still the breaks would come that i have no doubt
Durbin i,d sign him up for 3 years he,s head and shoulders above any
playmaker we,ve had in the past few years and his kickin game is pretty good too top player that lad.. We defo need a class centre and another big forward Hobbo today played out of his skin when he was on the field
another big rugged lad like him and we wont be far off at the end of the season..

TBH Iain your right about the 80 - 20% but lets not forget thats about the percentage of newish boys in the squad still learning to play together, after having watched the game on my 'big' telly Watto did some really good stuff but it was spoiled by either late support or non existent support,(which makes him look stupid) the couple of times they did work out tries were scored off him, we have two second rowers big strong young eager kids in AJ (yes I know he played centre today but he's a 2nd rower) and Haggerty Id be telling them to stick on wattos shoulders, Riddy is I think finding the step up hard he's not doing that bad but breaking no pots but its still early days for all the team.
But they are all we have so they will have to grow together (and fast).
