I think Rovers possibly had the 'rub of the green' quite apart from any refereeing decisions.
Just before half time Wilkin made an intercept but couldn't hold on to the ball. He would have had a walk in under the posts and it would have been 18-6 at half time. No way back from there me thinks.
If we'd had the same kind of fortune last year at Knowsley Road, we might have lost by only 30 instead of 40. Two and a half years ago we lost a cup semi against Saints 50-0.
This time we were good enough to make our fortune count. We're happy.

Have to say I was VERY impressed with the HKR support, I counted 10 coaches and 1 double decker. Had good banter after the game.
Well done, deserved win, we need to be more clinical.

I was stood directly infront of the disallowed Wellens (?) try, and this one Saints went insane when it wasn't given. I thought and still think it was a 100% try, although I couldn't see if a pass was forward, which is what it was ruled out for.
The penalty that gave us the two points was correct.
Another incident which caught my eye was when Briscoe knocked the ball dead, yet the ref gave it as a 20m metre. I was directly infront of it, and saw Briscoe touch it. Also, in the last few minutes, with that short kick off, a Saints player touched the ball last, yet Smith gave you a scrum.
Overall, Smith is not fit to referee a game, and tonight definitely proves it. We need younger, faster refs, not relics like Smith, Silverwood and Alibert (who was shattered after 15 minutes tonight).

That was the correct decision. What people moan at is the 100 other times that markers are not square but never get penalised. Obviously refs cant see everything but they are usually consistant with what they do see. Without detracting anything from Rovers' win Smiths decisions were all over the place.

Listened to match on the Radio (couldn't afford to go ) the commentators said it was a double movement from KR, and that the touch judge disallowed it, but was overuled by the clown in the middle.
