In fact, the more I read it, the more Kear's quote is a load of tautological gonads. If he's referring to Wakey and Warrington, they're not a champion team, and we're not a team of champions.
And even if he isn't, it still doesn't really make sense.

He is referring to champions in an attitude sense and as a frame of mind.
