IMO.

Some of the "close Range" tries he has scored over the years have being insane. He's a quality finisher and more often then not comes up with the goods.

As "people", who are these people? I for one have my own set of eyes and I'm capable of making my own mind up. Frankly suggesting others have an opinion simply because its suggested to them, is somewhat insulting.

Only insulting if you chose to take it that way, Raynor is a solid, average winger (imho), the fact he is one of the best British wingers says more about the lack of development in that position than his abilities (again, imvho)

Your opinion is not valid, it was clearly suggested to you by other people.

Have to say, though, Caldewood - Briscoe - Yeaman - Raynor looks pretty handy.

Couldn't agree more - Briscoe's handled everything with aplomb so far, so why delay in putting him in to his favoured position? I don't think Graham Horne has done badly - to be fair I don't think anyone has done badly and I'm really enthused by such a positive start - but Calderwood must be wondering what he has to do to get a pass from him at times. Nice selection dilemma for the coach to have anyway...which certainly makes a change from last year.

As far as Raynor goes, his try scoring record is OK without being exceptional. Fifteen SL tries in the last two seasons, although he scored 29 between 2006-07. His try scoring ratio over the last four seasons was very similar to Matt Sing and before him Nathan Blacklock, although they both got far more criticism, oddly enough.

Anyway, back on topic

Tom is one of the more exciting prospects in Super League and I hope he gets an extended run in the first team, be it on the wing or in the centres.

These people being...?

Sorry, but I have seen Raynor play 100+ times for FC with my own eyes. He is an excellent player, and one of our best. IMO.

I managed to form this opinion on my own, unless you are suggesting I was unduly influenced by the subliminal message "Raynor is a top player" that is hidden in the recording of Old Faithful played at home games.

I basically see it as Raynor, Briscoe and G.Horne competing for 2 slots, i also think that raynor has a very good understanding with yeaman. His try scoring record is irrelevant when you consider how many tries yeaman has scored over the last 3 years (42 in sl i think) i prefer to think of the centre and winger as a strike partnership. so it's horne or briscoe at right centre for me, and how do you leave tom out? although he should be rested now and again to prevent burnout. all imo of course.

I've seen him play about the same number of times, and I don't agree, if we played the game with the pitch sideways I might have a different opinion.

being a great player for us considering where his career was at when he arrived at Hull and fully justified his selection for international honours.
