Can't argue with that. It came to a point where he had to go for a culmination of reasons.
I'd also add that for such a poor coach, him and Agar are doing OK At Hull FC. They beat Leeds in the Jamie Jones Testimonial and are unbeaten so far in Super League.

That's something you fickle fans are going to have to live with!
That is true but he was the guy who played quite a few of the players out of there positions something everyone has to live with but tbh I was extremely happy for the team and Sharp when they made it to the CC final will never forget that day. Making it to the play offs was good too.
Baby due on the 22/04/2011 cant wait to be a mum :) x

It was a case of needs must. We didn't have an out and out fullback at the club. I think if you'd have asked Sharp if Thorman was a natural fullback he'd have said "no". But he backed Thorman to come good. And answer me this; if Thorman was so unhappy with Sharp's selection policy why did he follow him to Hull?
Personally, I think Sharp's biggest mistake in that respect was allowing Donlan to leave while retaining Reilly for one more year. I would've kept Donlan... there's no room for sentiment in business or sport, as Sharp found out soon enough. Ironically, I think that Sharp bowed to the overall fans opinion on that score, and he suffered at their hand later on.

Did they play against 3 of the top 4 the previous year though? I distinctly remember when we lost 7 of our first 7 under him too.
Two sides to every rainbow Wesley old chum.

I'd put that down to the KD and RT to be totally honest.
The fact of the matter is that Mr Sharp overstayed his welcome. If not then he would have left on a high and be immortalised for every. There are only a vocal few cheering from the rooftops for him - I ain't one - anyone who plays the then England Captain at Stand Off as a Full Back is putting himself down a path that isn't going to be pathed with gold.

We could have signed one or not released one. We had a perfectly good one in Paul Reilly and had another young lad coming through. Instead we played at least 5 different full backs. Thorman, Jenson, Hodgson, Cudjoe, and Elford spring to mind.

As i understand it we had tried to sign a full back which got knocked back at the last minute thus went into the season without a recognised full back. that was not sharps fault.

I'd have a 'one in, one out' policy rather than a 'one out, maybe one' in policy.
