Well can't remember since i list committed finger to key board - probably refelcts a reasonably satisfied fan however having just returned from Cas i can honestly say that has to be one of the most inept and embarrasing displays i've ever seen.
From the few first minutes when their Centre stood Littler up and walked round him the writing was on the wall. We are simply not good enough and our early promise shown in the Celtic game now looks unfounded.
Tonight was a catalogue of errors but a real cause for concern is the general naivety in attack and lack of appetite for a game these palyers are being paid to play, there were a few exceptions in Alker, Paul and Big Phil.
As I say a catalogue of errors, to metion a few:
Wilshere - stepping inside on the defensive line to leave the wing completely unoppossed and simply unable to vary his kick off, their receivers must of thought it was Xmas.
Henry - why kick on the first simply because a lack of true speed prevents a decent run for the line.
Smith - dire, his hospital passes to the runners was at best dangerous
Nash - not yet ready
Talau - not sure he ever wanted to come to Salford the way he doesn't perform.
Parker - gotta feel sorry for this guy, he came to Salford to play and has had the captains job thrust upon him, the task is too big.
Fitzpatrick - when will he learn to catch a ball on the full and not let it bounce - a schoolboy error
The Pack - we look awesome but fail to deliver, at times we had HBs taking the ball up with our suppossed big hitters out in the centres. If we are to cross the gain line we need to be moving onto the ball at pace not taking a flat ball whilst walking on to it.
Littler - unable to operate 1 on 1 marking and his lack of speed is leaving the back line far too vulnerable down the flanks.
Now I know this is early into the season and super league is a step up with no relegation this season however it is not unreasonable to expect a spark of ambition, to vary our options and see more of an appetite and pride in the shirt. We were a laughing stock today and embarrassed by a side that finished bottom of SL last year. I dread to think what will happen when we meet a higher quality side - no disrespect to Cas. I suspect we will be making unwanted contributions to some SL records
Times have changed. It's not like the Old Days, when we can do anything we want. A refusal is not the act of a friend. If Don Corleone had all the judges, and the politicians in New York, then he must share them, or let us others use them. He must let us draw the water from the well. Certainly he can present a bill for such services; after all... we are not Communists.

They have already won a game, I'm still unsure whether Jacksonville-gate is still running through the team and after seeing tonights result I'm glad I didn't go.
this will not be the end, or even the beginning of the end.
It is merely the end of the beginning

I wonder if Salford are only focusing on home games, if so, perhaps they could put an ad in the paper so we know not to bother travelling away.
Salford are going out to win every game they play in - home or away - but they are finding (and will continue to find) it tough this season. It's a hard one to swallow but if you want a bit of solace go back through Cas' message board and check out the stuff we were saying at this point last year. It's pretty much the same tbh.
Keep at it. Week by week just doesn't matter - you're in this for (at least) three years, and I'd bet the house that this year is going to be by far your worst of them. Even so, Mr Pringle's a pretty good coach and I'm sure you'll pick up an unexpected result or two this year and build on those rare highs for next season. Just like Cas did.
I think the title of this thread sums it up for you guys on and off the field tonight. You're players just seemed to lack passion and they looked knackered after 20 minutes (Especially Talau). As for the first 20 minutes Cas did come out like a house on fire and played very well, unfortunately you didn't rise to it. Thought Robbie Paul helped a bit when he came on and stedied the ship a little, and Leuluai was your best player by a mile. Basically I think you have some decent players in and amongst, they just need to gel and work out some set pieces and McRae certainly needs to sort the fitness element out!
I stood at the Salford end in the 2nd half, and I must admit I was (for the 1st time) embarrassed to be a rugby league fan. (I know this was only a minority) but throwing objects such as a glass bottle and a flare onto the field (at your own players too!) is completely unacceptable and apalling behaviour. I really couldn't believe it and there is never a need to bring footballing behaviour into our game! We all have our off days! Terrible, I hope your club sorts out this minority of idiots!
I hope you pick up from this both on and off the field and get some good results this year!
my attitude is i dnt mind losing but when you pay good money and travel across to watch and they play like tonight that just takes the mickey, once is bad,2weeks on the trot and questions have to be asked cos that isnt even nl1 standard!
what is a joke is the fact that the cas fans came and stood with the salford fans in the 2nd half! when trouble did start it seemed that it was salford fans fault! get a f##king life and keep fans seperated! we're poop but the jungle is even shitter! btw that ref was disgracful!
It is bad THIS IS NOT GETTING US A GOOD NAME FOR OUR CLUB! WE SHOULD BAN THE IDIOT FOR THE REST OF SEASON! The other fans who were on the coach with us from the shop to the game and back were top lads had a right old laugh despite our loss! I think we still we think were in the northern rail standards! ITS A LONG ROAD!

Wheldon Road has always been a non-segregated ground. If you didn't like it, you should have moved. And why the hell would a Cas fan throw things at their own players and on their own pitch?

Cos it was a black or amber flare thrown onto the pitch. Never been problems in the Railway End from non segregated away and home fans until now.
