well I for one hope he does well. It would be good to have a competetive French side to play against more often.

I was a bit surprised to hear of the appointment (sounds like he was as well). From what I recall he was not doing a bad job with Rochdale before he had to be let go. Of course an international team is a different fettle of quiche entirely..
