Another poor performance that was almost a carbon copy of the HKR game. However in some ways it was worse. Positives? Well there was plenty of effort from most players and we were well disciplined but that's it.
Again we showed an almost total lack of creativity. 1 clean break in the first half only. In the second the lack of direction from halfback was obvious. We managed only two occasions where we tried something a bit different to aimless passing along the line. Some may say we weren't helped with Deacon going off but to be honest we were awful in attack with him on the field.
In defence I thought there was cause for concern. Hudders dominated the collision and played the ball far quicker. This had us back peddalling and we really struggled to stop their offloads. This has been a weakness for us for years and we show no signs of sorting it. God knows what will happen when we play the likes of Leeds and Saints.
When we took the ball up Hudders almost always put our man on his back so our ptb was really slow. Our passing often seemed to go to nobody or was mistimed with Jeffries the worst culprit.
Our most creative player is Glen Morrison! A workhorse backrower. SNuff him out and we have nothing.
It's going to be a long hard season.
Nay don't be silly we have a great defence according to some people.
I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying.

The try we conceded in the corner was almost a carbon copy of the balls up we made versus HKR with players not knowing what they were doing.
The defence around the rusk was pants. Hudders regularly got 3 or 4 in the tackle and put our man on his back. This tactic was perfect for closing down what little threat we had. Have we ever done this ourselves? We seem to manage it in fits and starts at best and at worst allow teams to offload too much and pick up cheap yards. How is it that Hudders managed to play the ball so much quicker? Could it be that our technique is poor and is getting poorer? At one time we only really struggled in this dept versus Saints but now it's a weakness that all our opponents can exploit.

Agree with all of that.
I was extremely concerned with Menzies and Morrison being, being 35 and 32 respectively, being our most impressive players. On that basis, if we lose either of those two then we're screwed further for the rest of the season.

Isn't that a bad point for you seen as you conceded constantly in the last five minutes. As i said before, come back and say all this if you finish higher at the end of the season. Otherwise, go and gloat on your own board. Oh, I forgot, there is only you, and around 3 others who use that forum!

You have to get used to it on here Ponner, write an utterly worthless post consisting of a lame 'wise'crack and more smileys than words, and it gets edited to save other people wasting their time reading it. - af
If i was to marry, i dont know if i ought to, if i would, if i should , i'd marry a Prop's daughter, she'd go down, i'd go down, we'd all go down together, we'd be alright in the middle of the night going down together!!

Pity you can't delete those forty years By the way posts are only removed if they are considered offensive, vulgar etc.
That game was dire, it was there for the taking and we couldn't do it, I'm sure the excuse will come out we've had a week off. Enough is enough I want to see a change this isn't this week or this season, it was here and has been for a good while, time for a clean sweep me thinks
Our problem is with the backs ,we are to slow near the try line,no one is runnibg on to the ball, and where are our quick play the balls, not good enough atall

What happened to Godwin?? Cause i'm pretty sure that he wasn't in the tackle at the end of the 1st half and he was completely out of it when he came off the pitch.. and then Ganson was looking over him and just shrugged as if to say he didn't see anything.

Dunno. He looked concussed. Maybe a clash of heads?
