When building a house the first thing you need is good foundations and on tonights performance I think we are on our way to having a very good house.I'm not going to get to carried away and predict this and that but to see a solid display like tonights fills me with hope. What a wonderful performance from 1 to 17.Congratulations to Richard Horne on scoring his 100th try,and how fitting to do it at home infront of the faithful.Well done lads.

In many ways the best performance for a fair while. Particularly pleased that we seem to have regained our determination not to let the other team score that we had in 2005/06 seasons. Even when we got to 28-6 and the game already looked won we were really piling in and scrambling to keep them out.
Still areas for improvement though, so let's hope we continue to do so. I certainly came away from tonight with a lot more optimism than I had during the close season.

Some excellent work by the pack again tonight - won the "arm-wrestle" convincingly and pushed back their ball-carrier more effectively than I can remember. Special mention to Tom Briscoe for a stunning one-on-one ball steal to save a try as well. Very encouraging all round.
