Not true - the Coral Stand was built by the club on its return from Valley Parade. Before then a great deall of time and effort was invested in the Tesco-backed scheme, only for it to be rejected by the government. Before that, the club's hands were tied by Bradford Council's ludicrous attempt to take the national stadium from Wembley.

A whole number of different bodies including the Bulls. They need help, just as Huddersfield needed help. Huddersfield's good fortune was to get that help the best part of twenty years ago. It's only now that they seem to be taking advantage of it, but good for them regardless, better late than never.

That being my point, all clubs need help whether it be the council, private funding etc, we just had the foresight 20 years ago to get it sorted.
Has your chairman got a bit of brass or will it mainly be council funded do you think?

Bulls/Northern were well aware of the need to improve their facilities in the 80s, but as I detailed above the circumstances were pretty much insurmountable. Had the Tesco scheme been approved as the similar Saints one has been, we'd have moved into a Galpharm-a-like at Odsal in 2004. As it was, we didn't, but not because of a lack of effort on behalf of the club.

Compared to me, yes. Compared to Davy etc, no. Council will have to cover the lion's share, but then the project is designed to be of benefit to the wider community rather than just the Bulls.
All still up in the air, but if you're interested, this should cast some more ligth on the whole murky process. Feel free to skim.

The coral 'stand'
Arena 84....20 years ago? Your timelines are terrible. I look forward to you blaming the failure to develop Odsal on Gladstone or Julius Caesar (anybody but the Bulls)

Could be a bucket for all I care, as long as there's a sink to wash my hands in after. A roof at Odsal would be a nice bonus during the earlier games but on a sunny day I'd probably miss the open feel of Odsal. But I've been going for a long time now, so perhaps I'm just used to it.
I totally agree with you, if he's more interested in where he pi$$es then he could save his season ticket money up and get his bathroom renovated, then listen to the game on the radio whilst taking a slash in his lovely clean toilet.

And that's the best you could come up with? I'm hurt, no really!
ATEOTD boys my point is this: when comparing the grounds it's well worth the quid extra in. But then you already know that. If you have kids going to the game then we're actually cheaper. Better to check out the muck your chucking prior to chucking it, then you don't end up having to resort to crappy comebacks that are rather pitiful.
Now I must dash, got to get my three esses in before I set off to Bradford and start scratting about for a cheap ticket in a pub...
If London is Athens, Yorkshire is Sparta, a tougher community and proud of it.
