Not saying I do or do not approve (or if he would even legally be allowed to play RL), but I read this article and wondered if any SL clubs may be interested in an England RU prop (32 Test caps, was and has as a result of ban has been removed from England’s RBS 6 Nations squad).
Anyone think we or anyone else will raise an eyebrow at this news?
I know nothing about RU, so I don’t know anything else about him? Anyone know anything?
I personally don't think it's a sport enhancing substance so he should be prosecuted under the full arm of the law and not the sports governing body. I realise he’s a role model and kids look up to him but I still don’t feel it should he should be punished by the sport and not the law.
Same goes for Bird & Carney in RL. If a player has done something illegal he needs to be prosecuted under the laws of the land not the laws of the sport. If the courts decide not offer a custodial sentence I can’t see how a club can justify taking his employment off him.
In regards to RL? Depends how desperate a club is. He’s one of the more mobile props in RU, he’ll come cheap and he’s got two years to sort his fitness out really. Worth a punt I suppose?

Anyway, that's as good a reason as any not to sign him.
Oh I remember him now, he was quite cute.

I kept the faith and I kept voting Not for the iron fist but for the helping hand For theirs is a land with a wall around it And mine is a faith in my fellow man Theirs is a land of hope and glory Mine is the green field and the factory floor Theirs are the skies all dark with bombers And mine is the peace we knew Between the wars
