only 6/1 this week for us to be winning at half time and then lose, they must have cottoned on to how poor we are

Not a bad bet, even at those odds though....

Union is played by people who close airports after a bit of snow, League is played by people who would go and have a snowball fight with a 747

Finding the Warrington game hard to call this week.

Warrington will win a game soon it's just a matter of time and Wakefield have many injuries but when you compere both teams form and our record at Belle Vue isn't great it becomes somewhat a quandary.

Wakefield +4 @ 8/15 or Wakefield straight win @ 10/11, decisions decisions.

Make sure you nail your colours to the mast before kick off Latchy. I'm actually genuinely interested to see whether you make a profit over the course of the season or whether gambling really is a mug's game.

Will do Ian.

On a whole gambling is indeed a mugs game because if you take the whole nation of gamblers then there is only one winner (The bookie) but i believe certain individuals can have relatively good success, it's just everytime i take £200 of the bookie, the bookie takes £200 of the bloke betting round the corner so on a whole meaning the whole country the bookie is the winner.

I'm interested too. My background is the gaming industry. Technically it is possible to be a professional gambler at betting as it is more than just a game of chance unlike slots, and casino games which will generally take 4-18% off you over time.

I have a feeling the method is to research better than the bookies, then load on heavily trusting your instinct. Takes balls of brass though.

Information is king in sports betting - I bet on RL on Betfair and have always turned a profit every season mainly because I choose my games and it`s a sport where particulalry in the case of betting exchanges occasionally punters lay bets with little knowledge of the game - for example if you laid Wigan on Betfair especially on the televised matches you generally end up in profit( because folk with limited knowledge of RL assume Wigan are always ace!) .
As with most gamblers though I come unstuck because I lack discipline - the moment my account is in credit I move into sports where the bookie is king such as Horseracing and it doesn`t take long for my money to disappear ...
And never , ever get involved in Spread Betting on Cricket - the market is very mature and there are lots of people out there with far more knowledge than I will ever have ...
My current big bet is Rory McIlroy for the WGC Matchplay Championship - easily the form golfer in the field and top value at 15`s this morning on Betfair
