Ever since noble came out with his comment about poaching union players, lots of different names have cropped up, but this lad's name refuses to die down. I for one would welcome the change if it was attempted or succeeded, as he is a very good fullback. It could involve scrapping mathers altogether to a co-operative championship club, most likely widnes or leigh, and using what money we have left and any we gain from mathers to bring the guy over.
Although he plays union these things make him a better choice than mathers
1) good positional sense
2) Very good defensively
3) offers a lot to attack, and has a wicked left foot step.
4) very safe under the high ball
All of these make him a better choice than mathers, wondering if anyone else had heard about this and/or what do they think?

Kearney is a proper class act, probably be the Lions full-back or wing this year if he keeps going. He'd be a quality signing, but because he's so high profile in RU right now it almost certainly won't happen. The money and the profile gap is too big to bridge.
Mayor I could imagine us going for and maybe getting..the day someone like Kearney pauses for even a moment to think about signing for us is the day St Helens sign Cameron Phelps
