Sky Sports news are doing a feature on proposed changes to football rules. They mentioned they are looking into the sin bin as is used in rugby union and show a clip from a union match :roll:

They then go to one of the coaches who says "maybe not a bad thing if you go off for 10 minutes like they do in the Rugby League"

At least someone got it right not like the moron who wrote the script for the presenters!!!!!

I mean she even cooks me pancakes

As a true rugby league supporter, I am outraged at this blatant and unprovoked attack at out proud sport the the southern based media.

For rugby league to be shown in such a light against a rival sport is utterly disgraceful and I shall be cancelling my Sky subscription immediately in protest and writing to my MP.

I think the original poster was being as pedantic about Sky's choice to use RU as the example instead of RL [the first to use sin binnings] as you are calling him up on it. Now you can include me in that too!

Neither sin bins nor sanctionary cards go back a long time in rugby. In fact they are not even rugby ideas.

The sin bin comes from ice hockey, apparently, but is now in common use in other sports. The sanctionary cards, so the story goes was an flash on inspiration at a traffic light.

Neither ice hockey nor rugby football talks about the sin bin. Ice hockey speaks about the penalty box, rugby union about temporary suspension......... :roll:
