He seems to struggle to give a straight answer, unless he's able to mickey about like last year.
Gary you should've asked him how long the roller coaster is going to be out of order.
Agreed. Watching that interview does not give you the impression of a serious coach who expects to be taken seriously, he's one of those who thinks he's funny/smart by giving slightly sarcastic answers to every question. At least when Cullen was in charge he conveyed an honest intensity about the importance of the role, the supporters knew that he took coaching Warrington seriously. Lowes looks like a man whos out of his depth and doesn't care, deep down he knows this is his one chance to coach in SL and he will be here about as long as David Plange. I would rather Plange was coach than Lowes.

i think you're being a bit harsh, I'm as disappointed as everyone but the comment with the players letting the coach down was bob on. It's about letting each other down. Also, the 7 game losing run is disappointing but the only losses I'm bothered about are the 2 at the start of this season.
I'm not saying that Lowes is my choice of coach and I believe in what he is doing. If we play that style of rugby week in week out I'll be totally fed up, but the first 50 minutes against Saints were the most controlled I've seen us play for years. We have always had the flair but need the defensive structures to keep teams out.
I mean she even cooks me pancakes
And Alka Seltzer when my tummy aches
If that ain't love then I don't know what love is
I cant believe the level of criticism continually aimed at Jimmy by our fans. Give the man a chance. Talking about the way he dresses or handles the media? Come on there are more improtant things than that, how he dresses or handles interviews has nothing to do with how he coaches. And as for the press conference, what has he done wrong here? He's had continuous criticism from all angles this season which is only 2 matches long. He's answered all of that and has held his hands up and admitted the mistakes he's made. He's also acknowledged that some players aren't doing enough and has said he's told them in no uncertain terms about that. He believes in the players and so should we. And he's right in saying players shouldn't be dropped after 2 matches. Kev Penny is different. He's young and was perhaps brought in too early too quickly, Jimmy dropped him last year at Castleford remember. Had he turned and said yes I'm dropping player a or b after 2 games then that would prove how out of touch he is. He probably is fed up with all the doom and gloom and from what I see he's simply trying to be as positive as possible with his answers and that is the right thing to do. As for the board, they would have been crucified if they hadn't given Jimmy the job if only for 12 months after his promising start. It's embarrassing at times to be a fan of Warrington looking at the negativitiy surrounding the club which comes form the majority of people in these forums. If someone doesn't perform, the answer isn't to constantly pick holes in everything he does, the answer is to support him and encourage him. Jimmy has got more experieince than anyone who uses this forum, ffs, just for once, back the guy and give him a chance.

To be fair, we haven't won since August last year. That's where a lot of the criticism comes from.
No matter who was in charge we probably would have lost those matches due to the injuries we had. It's just negative things all the time. If you look for negative things you'll find them all the time as most warrington fans do. Last season should be written off. This is his first full pre season with them and first time they are playing or should be playing to how he wants them to. It seems more of a case of players not being able to adjust or refusing to adjust.

Can I be the first one to say that I believe that James Lowes is the right man for the job.
The corner will be turned on Friday night, Matt King will score a hat trick and then we'll turn Leeds over next Sunday, this time with the hat trick from Chris Hicks.
James Lowes will then be acclaimed on this forum as the Messiah and all will be well again in the world.

You queried his demeanour and the fact that he wasn't exactly enthusiastic - his reply was 'I'm always like this'. If you said that to Lowes, his head would explode.
