No offence taken, clearly we are not as strong as Leeds or Saints or a few others. I consider us battle hardened and a tricky team to play. However we do have some very good players who would do rather well wherever they went, something overlooked by some fans of more illustrious clubs who like to think there is no life outside the top few clubs. I think we both know that feeling and occasionally we seem to feel the need to be almost apologetic to them, balls to that I say

There used to be gates of 9000 regular in the 70s and that was with 100% home fans, no away fans could normally make it back in those days as not a lot of people had cars then, thinking about it I don't remember Widnes getting excellent crowds either when you were champions?

Simple really , we can easily see how we compare to Salford under the published criteria
With location not being part of that published criteria we struggled to see how we scored lower than Celtic
I dont think I recalled anybody saying they were ' failing ' on here

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Since the imbeciles on here are just assuming every single one of us is going on and on about it couldn't you just imagine that we're going on about salford instead? If it suits you, go ahead.

They have beaten Celtic at home and then got thumped by the lowly Wakefield. (Take the Aussies Demetriou, Drew, and Blanch, and the Scottish heritage Danny Brough out of the side and Wakefield is not a SL standard team).
Their first home ground attendance of 4,026 was abysmal. It was exceeded by the home game crowd of Celtic Crusaders and Harlequins this weekend.
Salford have some very good players but a poor coach and administration. The coach, who is personally a lovely man and a good TV commentator for sure, is not respected in Australia as a coach. The administration of Steve Simms has a lot of question marks around it. If the new stadium does not get under construction by early 2011, and their crowds do not increase to over 6,000, then I would expect that the RFL has every right to dump them.
I set up a new thread in the Salford forum about "another usual season" and see the amount of poop I got from the numbheads who are so much in denial! Its like nobody is allowed to criticise or question the club, Chairman, coach etc, as its the deadliest sin! FFS these morons love their cosy cliques....

Yeah thats why they are the only Super League club with NO online store ffs!

Or maybe it could be considered that one away defeat maybe a bit too early to judge a season, especially a season that is supposed to be a season to build to steady progress - but lets not let rational thought temper a bit of knee-jerking.

Some people have very selective memories, or may be you are blinded by bitterness over the selection of Salford as a SL franchise. If you are bnot bitter, then at least make an effort not to sound that way.
widnes have never had massive crowds,
and you have missed the point completely (as usual), the fact that salford is in such close proximity to old trafford and the fact that united have always been an extremely well supported team and that they have enjoyed a fair amount of relative success. not to mention that they are probably the most famous team in the world, could have something to do with salfords attendances over the years??
love all to do with bitterness, but being a city fan you must find it hard to think and type at the same time...................
