Darren Lockitsname won,t be coming this season.

Doesn,t matter, if u are going to have a sport whose governing body has already decided that any club inside the heartlands, must stay outside where you might realistiically might be despite success on the field, whats the point ?

Should any club develop their local talent to such an extent, they will eventually lose their best prospects to a Non relagation club ,unless that club offers enough money to keep that promising prospect to stick with their current club for a good percentage of their playing days.

Tough one isn,t it ? A million and a half plus for a Non relegation club to fund their signings and how much for those clubs outside?

What a brilliant ridiculous idea franchising is, to ensure mediocrity for most ,at the expense of a few

I think we have some good uns but we won,t be able to keep them.

There isn,t even the benefit of transfer fees anymore. All a club needs to do is pay up a contract.

They dont even do that Frank , they just tap up the player and wait

You then have a choice , either let him go and get an academy friendly in recompense or continue playing an unhappy dismotivated player till his contract runs out

A no win situation

Just seen on the Fax site that they are not running a reserve side this season despite getting to and winning GF's in the last 2 seasons

They dont see it as worthwhile , no doubt they will ressurect a team in 2011 when franchises are back up for grabs

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Could agree that we need maybe another 'leader' to take the pressure off Watson, but I think McConnell and Smith can both fill that role when they come back from injury.

aye Experienced, but hardly a 'match winner'.

i dont agree, i fully believe tha the door has not been shut and i still believe leigh can get back into the top flight.

it is upto the club, the players the fans to put us in a position were the next licence cannot be refused.

i think union will ensure celtic fail and wakey and cas without new grounds will be in danger in 3 years time. lets stop moaning about lewis and try and take charge of our own destiny.lets give him no choice.
for a start we need to be ahead of widnes in the pecking order

i am 47 and do not want to watch this standard for the rest of my life

You are right, in my opinion, 'sf'. However, when you are older than 47, you become more cynical with age, and experience. The older you get, the dizzier you become, watching goalposts moving about! My money, (if I had any, in the current economic climate) would be on the RFL, giving the "we're getting a new stadium" brigade a few years extra, because of the 'credit crunch'. In other words, the criteria may just change again!

The proverbial goalposts will definitely be moved by time the new franchises come around again. The only scenario I could see a club lose its franchise is if they go into administration....but then again I wouldn't hold my breath.
