I'm quite suprised really. I would have never have thought he had a tactical or coaching sense about him, especially in a game as complex as Rugby Union.
I could understand if he was working with outside backs, but to play a major coaching roll across the board has really taken me by suprise.

Well done to him!
He is a character that commands respect and with the help of more technical coaches that is half the job done.
I heard some shocking stories about how he used to rip into the lads when he was at Sale on the training ground or in social situations when he felt the team was behaiving in an unprofessional way, and i heard from some of the same people this did not often make him popullar in the dressing room but you knew who was boss.
I think his public personna and his professional rugby characters are 2 poles apart in truth.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.
Tomkins, Thorley & Farrell are in the Accelerate Squad and on 3 year deals. One of the reasons for this, I suspect, is to ring fence them so Union clubs can't come and poach them.
Good Luck to Jason Robinson, he'll need it.
Lots of Union clubs are losing £ms hand over fist.
Wouldn't surprise me if Sale were one of them.

Hearing from a very reliable source, that the amount of money offered to Thornley is astranomical for an 18year old.
