This forum is a great place for us to talk about all kinds of stuff, to let off steam and to insult each other.

But an independent discussion board isn't the best place to make sure you get a point across. If you post something really important, chances are you'll get loads of replies, but your point will probably also get lost beneath waves of other posts before the day's out!

I've recently been assingned the task of trying to get 16-24 year olds, male and female, who support the club more involved. If you think the club should be doing something different, or – better still - if you can tell us how to do it, let us know. This can be anything from events to ticket incentives, and what you want the club to do to benefit your age group, either educational or recreational, or even if you're outside this age group and have children within it that you feel could benefit from your ideas.

There's nothing meant to be formal about all this. You don't even have to be a club member or season ticket holder to send something to me, although I'd like you to include your name and email in case I need to get back to you. I guarantee your absolute confidentiality and promise to try and use any ideas, advice and comments you share with me to do this job better.

So please email any thoughts and ideas you may have been storing up for a while, and been dying to get off your chest, the club would really be interested in hearing from you.

this is a great idea the clubs of SL seem to spend a lot of money and time trying to generate support then let them slip away when they go to college/uni or get a crappy paid job.

hats off

Seriously? It's the toughest nut to crack - as you are well aware!

Something for nothing? Free tickets - even then they will view them with disdain.

Set up a bungy jump on the pitch - that might get them, something extreme!

Go through the 6th forms and colleges, and get something in their curriculum - then they HAVE to come at some point. If you get them down, there is a chance they may enjoy it, even if they don't say so.

Pay them / or give them something in reward for coming - the first time at least. The get them bought in, i.e. come to 10 games and get a free shirt. Give them 3 vouchers with the first game, then they think they're nearly half way there and might, might be tempted back.

Music, movies and fashion seem to be the only other things that get them away from just 'hanging around', but how you turn that into getting them to a Rugby League match, I don't know!

Some regular blogs, by players on the official site (maybe video) would be good, similar to Colin's blog?? Not like serious interviews, maybe just following player around for a day so we get an insight into daily routines of players. Just a thought?

Perhaps get in touch with a local record label and host a battle of the bands competition over the course of the season, say 3 or 4 bands battling it out before each home game, x amount of first rounds, quarters, semis then 2 bands battling it out in the final. This would also get us free pre match entertainment.

The final of the competiton to be played out before our last home game of the season and the winners getting a record deal with the label and say the runners up getting x amount of time in a studio to record demo cds to send off to other labels.

The lads and lasses in these bands will all have friends who come and suppport them where ever they play and as they progress through the competition their reputation and fan base will grow thus bringing in more people through the gates. £11 (students) or £17 to see 3 or 4 bands plus 80 mins top quality rugby league is a bargain.

The later rounds might even see us playing in front of sell out crowds thus improving our application in 3 years time for our next franchise. Also these people might get the bug and continue supporting us in the following seasons.
