David Brown Tractors at Meltham was just about the biggest employer in the Huddersfield are in that time. I think that ICI were the biggest followed by DB Tractors and then the rest.

Ben Shaws is no longer Ben Shaws, Schweppes bought them a few years back and now jut use it for mineral water, Ben Shaws is now made "somewhere else" by a different company, not sure where or who, but I will buy some this weekend just to find out you see (Yellow Lemonade, best pop in the land)

TBH, the Yellow Lemonade isn't the same; there's something missing. The Cream Soda is though.

I don't think they make it at Birkby/Fartown any more. That factory does spring water now IIRC.
