I'm surprised that Fakir didn't have a case to answer for the raised elbow whilst running at Morley in the 50th minute, looked like he was delibrately going for him to me and after Chev Walker got a one match ban last week for a similar offence I thought a little consistency from the RFL would have been used, but then again......!

So, according to that report, Westwood pleaded guilty to intentionally attacking the head.
That's strange, surely his representatives should have been saying he pleads guilty to the lesser offence of a reckless tackle, ie no intent, unless this word "intention" has a different meaning in the world of RL.

I don't agree to be honest. It was an act of complete thuggery and to 'whisper' in his ear like he did was a disgrace. I wish he'd got more to teach him a real lesson. At least we'll not be giving away so many penalties for the next 5 weeks.

We don't have a forward who can match his enthusiasm or workrate. He'll be a big loss, it's untimely also.

Cant understand why some of our fans conside us 'victims', all this about Mogg, Fakir, other clubs etc
Its irelevent. Westwood offended, was charged and found guilty. Only got himself to blame and hopefully the club also fine him for letting us all down.

It is a tactic Westwood uses a lot, he thrusts himself at the player, taking his feet off the ground.
9 times out of 10 that tackle would have been round the ball and put the player on his ar$e, but as SEB has pointed out, the initial tackle has brought the ball carrier down slightly. Whilst that is an explanation, it is the tacklers responsibility to ensure that he doesn't go high, and by being second man in, there is always a chance of this. It was a reckless tackle, no complaints from me about the ban, 5 matches is about right, as it was one of the worst high tackles I have seen for years.
I disagree that Westwood intentionally went for this tackle and result though, and I still haven't seen anything which shows Westwood saying anything in his ear.
