Weekend was a win at any margin game after wednesday

Sometimes [ quite a lot of the time with some ] people seem to forget why they make the effort to watch live sport proffessional or not

It is because when that whistle is blown you just dont know what is going to happen

This week we have played well and lost and played badly and won

That is why we go , if all you want is to watch a constantly winning team , then select the neccessary DVD's from Fred and you will be happy and satisfied [ but somwhat bored I would guess ]

If you want to know what is going to happen for entertainment then go and watch a movie or a ' show '

But you dont , you want to feel that little bit of fear and dread as that whistle goes

I have enjoyed all 3 of our matches so far , they have all been different but entertaining in thier own way

A strong well put together performance with a lot of trys

A heroic ' back to the wall ' struggle against adversity but ultimatley lost

A disjointed but interesting win against a determined focused team of ' missfits ' yesterday

What will sunday against haven bring ?

unfortunately Steve the sporting public of Leigh seem not to want to support their local teams they prefer to be armchair/pub chair supporters of TV toppers fussball or stupor league clubs and hold the same grudges they have for years, they are now out of the 'habit' of watching live sport be it at pro or amateur level (the numbers or lack of them at our two top 6 amateur clubs also would seem to prove that).

They'll be back. Everyone of them. Well the ones still alive. Success is the one missing thing thats keeping them away but I dont think its far away now. I can see a rosey future for our club.

But do we want them back ?

Do we want them back...... rather have new fans without the baggage.

We should want both.

I agree we should but they will still have the same old predjudices so is it worth it?
