I agree, he is 3rd behind Lulu and Macca. Which leaves an interesting point, is Riddell better off playing in the reserves till he gets up to speed and then can challenge for a 1st team spot? I think that is what was happen to Macca if he looked unfit, so why not Riddell? we can't favour our big expensive aussie imports just cos of expectation.
This year we lost our only player with real creative and winning ability. Thats what's changed, not nobby.
Nobby has not changed in the last 10 years and there is the problem. The player we lost in my opinion single handedly won Noble his contract extension for 09 for him.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

Tomkins does need game time and a chance to prove himself in the SL, but we've only had 3 games, don't you think that the Smith/Tommy partnership also needed/needs time to allow the two to gel?
No.
One is an out and out 7, the other is a 7/9.
Neither is a stand-off.

Wasn't Edwards once an out and out 6 who became a great 7? and a FB before that?
Hanley in the backs before becoming a great 13?
Gareth Ellis a centre before making a great SR?
Platt a great prop who started off in the second row?
Point is we never know till it's tried. Rushing partnerships etc will never work, everything takes time.
I want to see Tomkins as much as the next Wiganer.. but there's other things to consider.

I think we should be having him on the field for at least 45-50 minutes, unfortunately Noble seems to persist in only playing him for half an hour total.
Possibly because the 5 minutes before the half tend to be very critical and the last thing you want is a huge tub of tired lard defending like his feet have been encased in concrete.
Noble's after match interview after the defeat to Leeds in the playoffs last year was very revealing. After that off-season recruiting drive I suspect that Noble will want out of Wigan far more than the players or you lot want him out. Players who think they run the club, fat props who think they know how to spell themselves better than the coach, club management who can only whinge about the salary cap as they seem incapable of recruiting within it? If Noble goes he will be the happiest man in RL.

Although i agree with most of what you say i dont agree with the Feka bit. Whilst he cant play long spells he is very very effective and has won us many games when hes come on the field.
As for Noble i agree,it amazes me how there are so many people on here who think they know better than him. Nobodys saying hes perfect or never makes mistakes but he can do no right with most of the Wigan fans. You summed it up when you said players who think they run the club. Ive said it all along we cannot keep sacking coaches just because the players are dummy spitters. Its time they accepted that Noble is the coach and did what he tells them to.
