A promising first half, aided by a favourable penalty count and the wind, led expertly by Drew and Grix. All the forwards looked fresh and made good yards. Stosic impressed me with his first stint and so did Wilkes. Ball retention 100% improvement from not only Wilkes but across the bored.

I really thought the team should’ve scored more given the amount of possession they had and yards they were making and thought Wakefield would pay the price in the second half. The loss of Grix was a big blow and it was no coincidence that with no half back on the field Trinity lacked any cutting edge or direction. There were plenty of opportunities to finish the game off before they eventually did but a mixture of poor play and rash decision making put paid to that. Grix is now out for a reported 6 weeks with ruptured ankle ligaments so I can only hope Obst will be back on Friday otherwise it’s going to be a long night.

Salford did up their game in the second through with an ‘offload at will’ game plan, sometimes they were blind offloads. All it needed was one of the Wakefield players to move behind the tackle before it was complete and cheap position could’ve been obtained. I was impressed with restricting Salford to just the two tries given the lack of possession and the amount of defence work the team had to do in the second 40.

All in all it was a great first half with a satisfactory second half performance.

Get the Quo to the ground :D

FLEETMASTER STAND THE HOME OF THE NORTHSTANDERS

"Quote" But perhaps most impressive is another bumper Wildcats home crowd – 9,237 for a Saturday TV game in the cold and wet is a fine effort from one of Super League’s most progressive clubs "Gareth Walker the Mirror"

Although we didn't make tons of noise today we were not the quietest set of fans in Belle Vue yesterday.

I thought that your boys only opened their mouths once when you scored your first try and apart from that never heard a peep.

PS - you obviously haven't played Wigan at the JJB yet, they made even less noise than you did yesterday, despite proudly declaring their supporters as their number 18 in the squad list.

Good first half performance. controlled the ball well, made good yards and tackled superbly.
2nd half looked like we went to sleep thinking the job was done.
Salford couldn't have continued to play as badly so got back into the game slightly.
seemed to try to push things to much in the 2nd half but i always felt we were in control.
2 out of of 3 is a great start with the injuries we have and i for one am a happy trin fan this morning :D

There'd be no point in that though - young up-and-coming bands wouldn't add floating support onto the gate. People like to see those they've seen on the telly, not some no-marks, however talented they are.

When we got acts the level you'd see in 'Clubland' they added nothing for anyone, at least George Sampson, Journey South and however else we've had do add a little something to proceedings - not for everyone of course, but certainly those who see the posters and become curious...

a bit OTT, i felt sorry for the lad, he's only a kid and was getting loads of abuse from some young lads stood behind me, at least George Sampson is making something of himself which is more than what some of those idiots who were bagging him will ever do
