No, I really don't miss the point, I am fully in agreement, nobles substitutions are done by the clock and if Feka is doing fine leave him on! I was merely pointing out That Martinbuckley expects a player like Feka to do 80 mins like a player like peacock often does!

Maybe not 80 mins but i am sure you could get an extra 10 min out of him with some serious fitness work.Remember big paul anderson at bradford ,he was about the same weight as feka and played the same minutes of a game.Saints signed him and once apollo had worked on him in the off season he went from 30 min a game to close on 50 min without him losing any of his explosive power. Its no coincidence that the 2 top teams in leeds and saints are probably the 2 fittest teams in superleague. And fitness costs nothing.

Didn't see Feka's reaction but as I said on another thread, I couldn't see the logic in taking off the big man 4 minutes before half time when he'd obiously have a break at the interval anyway.

I think we should be having him on the field for at least 45-50 minutes, unfortunately Noble seems to persist in only playing him for half an hour total.

As Feka was subbed on Friday night he was fuming and just before he took his seat he stared up towards Noble in the stand and lifted his arms high in the air and shouted ''Why've you done that?!!'' shuck his head and sat down.

I've heard a few rumours that Noble has lost the dressing room and there have been many verbal arguments on the training pitch and in the changing room. Also, Phil Vievers comments in regards to lads ''playing as individuals'' was intresting.

From what I've heard some of the players comments to Noble when being subbed in the Wakefield game make Feka's pretty tame !!!

Thanks for that but that's what we're already doing.

Conroy - Being a Latics fan i'm already immune to watching sh*te.

Sally Cinnamon - Treat the Saints forum as you would if you met a girl from St Helens. Best policy would be to avoid altogether but if you absolutely can't resist temptation then take every possible precaution.

Time to keep a cool head over the poor start to the season and Noble.

1) If Noble was fired who would we get in? Lets face it these things take time and it's important to get the right man of the job.

2) You lot work yourself up, get yourselves all fired up over things that might not be the case. e.g-Noble losing respect in the dressing room. Unless you're in their with the players you don't really know the situation, for all we know they could love him.

3) The subbing of Feka, Feka's reaction wasn't as elaborate as people make out. Yes he looked vexed off, but that isn't a bad thing, show's fight. Noble has to consider the def as well as the offense and the condition Feka will be in later in the game if he were to do a bigger stint at that one point. Playing Feka by the clock is a safe way of gurrenting he will be an affective sub later in the game. It's in the training and prep that Noble will be able to make an educated decision on how long Feka can do.

4) Youngsters at Wigan- we've only played 3 games. In that period we've got a new HB pairing and a new no.9, this is massive with a team, Wigan's main problem is the lack of ideas in attack, such come from these key positions. Can't write off Smith and Riddell 3 games in. Riddell needs to get in better shape (not saying he needs to lose weight) just get up to speed.

Yet people are crying out for Noble's blood over young players when 3 games in we've seen
-Ainscough
-J Tomkins
-Goulding
-Pryce
-O'Carroll

All, including Pryce are young players. all given a go.

How many of us have seen how good S Tomkins is? What happens if Sam plays and all of a sudden we all see he has potential but is not yet ready of the rough and tumble of SL? We'd all sooner see him develop until he's ready then have a cracking player then push him too soon.

Tim and Tommy need time to develop together, so far i admit I too am crying out for Tomkins in the 1st team, but maybe he's not ready, Tim and Tommy aren't clicking, but never will without time.

Stop screaming for Noble's blood, its far more complex.
I think an interesting point will be if he selects mathers/pryce or ainscough for Quins. See how he views the current step up in the first team. personally I don't think mathers will feature.

IL is a wigan fan, leave it to him...

I agree that it is far too early at the moment to be making knee jerk reactions over Noble. You would expect Leneghan to know what the mood is in and around the club and if it was as bad as some are making out then I would expect him to be dealing with these behind the scenes.

What I don't agree with though is your view about Tomkins - the only way we are going to find out if the kid is ready is by giving him a go.

I am not advocating a starting place for him but he needs to be on the bench and begin by testing him that way.
