good player, always liked him, will give good impact, though im not sure he is what Hull needed

not too happy they have strayed up to 8 overseas players now if crocker ever gets here

they have a decent youth system up there, and had a few coming through

He's exactly what we need. We have no real impact props since Carvell left, and none coming through the system.

I'd prefer us to have fewer imports as well. However, I think it could be a transitional stage as we have several going OOC at the end of the season who may be replaced by British signings or not at all.

you have thackray, king, now moa and Lauaki along with Manu in the 2nd

there is a fair amount of impact there, and only 3 will likely make it on the bench at any one time,

the role id expect moa to fill (3rd choice impact prop) should have been given to a british lad to be honest, and it isnt a good thing it hasnt,

either that or lose byrne

the problem is this year, we could easily see a pack of Cusack Berrigan Moa Crocker Manu Lauaki

you have thackray and now moa? and Luauki is more of a second rower than a prop, a good one, one in the Puletua/Lauitiiti mold, not at their level imo, but still a good player,

im really not questioning the signing of Lauaki, i would have taken him at leeds should we not get eastwood,

but i dont see the need for Lauaki and Moa and Croker and Cusack and Manu when you have SL quality british players like Radford Tickle King Thackray etc

lets hope so, Hull have a feel of a club trying to placate the fans with signings at the moment, and as Leeds fan i can guarantee you that wont work

Thackray doesn't offer that much impact. King offers virtually none. Moa is a complete unknown. Manu is not a prop.

If you watch us play you'll see how little impact we get from our props and how we struggle to get any go-forward even against sides with relatively small packs.

SmokeyTA wrote:the role id expect moa to fill (3rd choice impact prop) should have been given to a british lad to be honest, and it isnt a good thing it hasnt,

Moa was signed before Lauaki was known to be available. Now we have Lauaki I'd say he was probably surplus to requirements, but he only has a one year contract and wasn't seen as a definite first-team player anyway.

Very unlikely. As stated, Moa is an unknown and the plan was to just take a look at him and see how he went this season. I doubt he'll get much, if any, game time unless we have a lot of injuries. Plus Dowes is always going to get a starting spot.

Bear in mind we have also signed Maloney - a young English prop we hope will feature strongly for us in the future.
