Well I for one hope they lose every game, crowds drop off to below 2000 and it all goes t!ts up and they go bust. They don't deserve to be in SL, they know it, we know it and Richard Lewis knows it. The sooner they fail the sooner we can call for his resignation.
...Gateshead abandoned by the RFL, saved by the local supporters.... Sheffield likewise.... Keighley cheated out of their deserved promotion... ...Hemel Hempstead never given the support they deserved despite funding their own development officer as long ago as 1989...
...the London team based in Fulham.. no, Chiswick... no, Crystal Palace... no, Barnet... no, Brentford... no, Charlton... no, Brentford... no, Twickenham...
...and that's only the last two decades...
Still, at least the national side is improving..... oh, hang on.... but wait, this is all Dickie Lewis' masterplan.... we've seen this before...???
...I remember now! What happened to the tennis under the great Dick himself!!!! So, we'll only get rid of that Dick when... GB lose to Ecuador!!!!

I bet I wasn,t the only one who thought they had hypothermia that night.
frank, hope you have tongue in cheek regarding the highlighted. If we get cr@p attendances I will say so, and doesn't make me any less of a supporter than the ones that made excuses for our crowds during SL2005. I was at every game bar 2 (home and away), so I know how the crowds went also.
Yes it was damn cold at HP that night but I watched rmi season before last a night game (forget who against ) but it was just as cold then - and they never used this excuse for small crowd
What annoys me on this board is constant negativity towards certain clubs, RFL and Lewis etc when its all history now. The 2 best teams from last season went up anyway. Lets just let it go, and concentrate on our own club.

Are you one of the Expansionist trolls from VT.............
How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?

Well I agree with your last 2 sentences however how many quota places did CC have last season? Answer not necessary of course.
We are never going to agree on franchising and currently we are stuck with it. Lets wait and see how good it is. Just hope beleve it or not that you are right.

Ahhh no RL before SL, Gee what was that I started watching in 1964?
Dont lump me with the 'we were cheated' brigade I said two years before that going up in SL would rip us apart and it did, I never expected it.
Just wish that the RFL had given some of that money wasted by ALL SL clubs to where its needed and thats at grass roots level.
Please do not send me any PM's I dont check this board often enough to be able to answer them, use my e mail add please fjparkinson@virginmedia.com

Lets just now move on, and build up a Team and a SUPPORT BASE, worthy of SL.......
All those stay away 'so called 'supporters, can stay away if leigh make the big time again.
We should be setting an example,as opposed to using examples.

The rfl sometimes choose not to see the grassroots growing all around them.... Mr Chairman you will know more than most that our beloved Centurions have not always been the smartest with their dabblings in the junior academy... but apparently Mr Lewis thinks this means there is no youth development in Leigh.
Might I suggest that a strong SL Leigh would, perhaps, be the single best recruiting campaign for the junior setups at Easts and Miners? Albeit that Leigh's exceptionally strong amateur clubs are way ahead of the game in what they do for the development of the sport.
Part of my issue with the Welsh setup is that there is very little at the grassroots (there are more amateur teams in Leigh than in the whole of Wales). SL will create heat and light wherever its franchises are set up, but without the likes of Easts and Miners to provide the kindling and fan the flames, it's not necessarily going to catch hold.
